Head of Department Ing. Petr Král, Ph.D.
Ing. Petr Král, Ph.D., is the head of Department of International Business since 2014. His teaching and research areas are International Marketing and International Marketing Communication. He acts as visiting scholar at various partner universities abroad (France, Austria, Latvia, China, and USA). At the UEP he teaches in international programs International Business and CEMS. He conducted several research and business projects in cooperation with corporate partners of the UEP. He is a member in a faculty group for marketing in the international strategic alliance CEMS. He teaches at the Czech Trade Export Academy and in the Sport Diplomacy program which is jointly organized by the Faculty of International Relations and the Czech Olympic Committee. He works as a consultant for Czech SMEs that expand to Germany.
Deputy Head of Department Ing. Radek Čajka, Ph.D.
Ing. Radek Čajka, Ph.D., specializes in issues of financial management and European monetary integration. He has been working as a visiting professor at partner universities abroad (France, Austria, USA, China). At the University of Economics, he teaches almost exclusively in English, both Czech students and foreign exchange students or within the international CESP program. He participated, as a member of the management team, in two EPAS accreditations at the Faculty of International Relations. Since February 2016, he has held the position of Vice-Dean for Foreign Relations and PR.
Aliya Algozhina, M.A., Ph.D.
Aliya Algozhina, M.A., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2018. She received her PhD. and M.A. in Economics from CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) in 2017 and 2010, respectively. She also did her Master of Public Policy at GRIPS (Tokyo), thanks to Japan-IMF Scholarship for Asia 2005-2006, during her work at the National Bank of Kazakhstan (2002-2008). Her areas of research are in international macroeconomics, monetary economics, resource economics, and development economics.
Laure de Batz, MSc
Laure de Batz, MSc, has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2020. She is completing her PhD in Paris, from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne), and in Prague, from Charles University (Institute of Economic Studies). She previously graduated from HEC Paris and from a macro-economic master in Macroeconomics and took part in the CEMS exchange program. She also taught in Sciences Po Paris. Her research is based on her decade-long work experience in Société Générale and Autorité des Marchés Financiers. She specializes in financial economics, and more precisely on market reactions to frauds and crimes.
Gauri Bhasin is an academician with extensive teaching background & expertise in crafting personalized modules & training sessions based on the individual/ group needs & future development plans. A Phd research scholar in “HR leadership Competencies” with double Master’s (MBA & MCom), was conferred with Young Achiever’s Award at the National Employability Conclave, 2016 in India. Experienced in the field of International Business and Intercultural negotiations. An English Language expert with TESOL certification from Auckland Institute of Studies, New Zealand. Over 13 years of experience in Training and Instructional design along with career guidance to students, professionals , corporates and internal-external clients. Accomplished team leader, responsible for establishing & nurturing business co-operation with International Universities in various countries of the world.
Ing. Ilya Bolotov, Ph.D., MBA
Ing. Ilya Bolotov, Ph.D., MBA, specializes in issues of international trade and international economics. He has worked as a visiting professor at partner universities abroad (Austria). At the University of Economics, he teaches almost exclusively in English, both Czech students and foreign exchange students or within the international CESP program. He participated, as a researcher of the team, in the project Mutual relations between the Republic of Korea and V4 countries in trade and investment by the University of Economics. In 2014, the author’s team led by him won the VŠE Rector’s Award for a prestigious book publication.
Ing. Iveta Černá, Ph.D.
Ing. Iveta Černá, Ph.D., received her Ph.D. from University of Economics, Prague in 2008. Her fields of interest in terms of teaching, publications and research involve international trade, FDI, investment incentives, business promotion, export support, EU structural funds and international business operations. Over 2007-2013, she participated in the Research Plan “Governance in the Context of Globalized Economy and Society” awarded to the Faculty of International Relations.
Bc. Pramod Dasan, Ph.D., MBA
Bc. Pramod Dasan, Ph.D., MBA, is Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since 2014. He had a short sabbatical and joined us back in February 2020. His areas of research are Marketing Analytics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Business Strategy. He received Ph.D. from VŠE, MBA from Chapman University (USA, California) and Electronics Communication Engineering (Bachelor’s) in India. He has more than 18 years of industries experience especially in the area of logistics and supply chain management.
Andrea Escobar Rios, Doctora en Ciencias
Andrea Escobar Rios is an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2019. She received her PhD in Mexico in 2017, from the EGADE Business School of the Tecnológico de Monterrey with a doctoral stay for the development of thesis in Czech Republic within the University of Economics of Prague VŠE. Her research area is developed in the field of luxury marketing, fashion brands, consumer behavior, country of origin as heritage and its impact on brand development. She has conducted research in some European countries, with a focus on France and Italy, for the Louis Vuitton and Prada brands. Since 2017 began her experience as a teacher for bachelor and postgraduate students in Mexico in subjects as market research, consumer behavior and marketing seminars. She also has extensive experience in the entertainment and public relations industry, in companies such as The Walt Disney Company and Warner Brothers, this last one as a current partner for market research projects.
Ing. Soňa Gullová, Ph.D.
Ing. Soňa Gullová, Ph.D., works at the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Prague. She specializes in trade and diplomatic protocol, international negotiations and international trade.
Ing. Jaroslav Halík, MBA, Ph.D.
Ing. Jaroslav Halík, MBA, Ph.D., specializes in marketing management and strategy of export-import business operations. He lectures as a visiting professor at partner universities abroad (Holland, Germany, USA, England, Russia, China). He teaches at the University of Economics in Czech, English and Russian. He is the author of a number of professional publications. He worked as a marketing manager and sales director in multinational companies. Focus of final theses: international purchase agreement, strategies for entering foreign markets, strategic marketing, global brands, multinational corporations.
Ing. Vít Hinčica, Ph.D.
Ing. Vít Hinčica, Ph.D., works as an assistant professor, mostly teaching the „International Business Operations“ course. He regularly publishes on different issues, teaches abroad, and also takes part in different research and training activities. The theses he supervises are usually focused on trade, investments and transportation.
Ing. Eva Křenková, Ph.D.
Ing. Eva Křenková, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor at the Department of International Business since 2017. She teaches International Business Operations and mentors bachelor and master theses with the focus on international business operations and logistics. Her research focus is mainly in supply chain management. Since 2019 Dr. Křenková is a member of research team solving a project: Targeting investment aid in the Czech Republic with regard to the expected impacts of technological changes.
Ing. Markéta Lhotáková, Ph.D.
Ing. Markéta Lhotáková, Ph.D., specializes in international marketing, especially international brand policy and the non-profit sector. She has worked as a visiting professor at partner universities abroad (China, USA). At the University of Economics, she also teaches in the English programs International Business and CEMS. She focuses on cooperation with practice, leading mainly student and research projects with corporate partners of the University of Economics. She worked as a brand mamager in multinational companies, she is engaged in activities in the non-profit sector.
Ing. Pavla Neumannová
Ing. Pavla Neumannová graduated from the bachelor’s and master’s programme International Trade at the University of Economics, Prague. During her studies, she spent a semester at one of the best Swiss economic universities in St. Gallen and received the ESOP Award for excellent essays at the VŠE. Pavla Neumannová is currently a doctoral candidate at the Department of International Business, focusing on international aspects of government procurement and B2G markets. She teaches International Trade in both Czech and English for foreign students.
Ing. Květa Olšanová, Ph.D.
Ing. Květa Olšanová, Ph.D., originally graduated from VSE and returned to the University of Economics, Prague in 2012 during her doctoral studies. Since then, she has been teaching International Marketing for both Czech and exchange students. In her professional career in the private sector, she occupied different positions in marketing and brand management, PR and CSR at Kraft Foods (currently Mondeléz International), Citibank Europe and Rothmans of Pall Mall. Her recent research interest is linked to corporate social responsibility.
Ing. Mgr. Petr Procházka
Petr Procházka graduated at the University of Economics in Prague (International Politics and Diplomacy) and Charles University in Prague (Political and Regional Geography). He participated in study abroad at the University of Sheffield (UK) and Universidad de Sevilla (ES). His main focus is corporate tax optimisation, global tax governance and employee relocation policies. He will be teaching seminars of International Business Operations. In professional career, he switched from Tourism (7 years as a Tour Manager – Mongolia, China, Uzbekistan, Russia) to International Logistics (5 years in Czechia and Spain in various positions and levels of the supply chain). He is currently in charge of operations and finance at the Czech branch of a Belgian transnational moving company.
Ing. Vadim Semenenko, MBA
Ing. Vadim Semenenko, MBA, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2020. He received his PhD in Economics in Kazan, Russia in 2009 and MBA from Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Vadim started his academic career in 2018. His main professional focus is intercultural management, where he is working as personal coach and corporate instructor. Since September 2020, Vadim Semenenko is an instructor for International Negotiation course.
doc. Ing. Ludmila Štěrbová, CSc.
Research area of Assoc. Prof. Ludmila Štěrbová are international trade and investment, trade policy, multilateral trading system of the WTO and trade related aspects of intellectual property rights. She published more than 130 articles and books, has been member of several research projects and presents results of her research at international conferences. She teaches namely in English taught programs. She reads lectures at universities in USA, China, Russian Federation, France, Germany and Austria. She guarantees the English taught program International Business – Central European Business Realities that has been repeatedly awarded by the prestigious international accreditation EPAS. She is President of the international organization Consortium of International Double Degrees, member of European International Business Association (EIBA), Czech Economic Association and cooperates in her expert capacity with the UN Economic Commission for Europe and Patent Office. She holds the position of Vice Rector for strategy at VŠE since March 2018. In the period of 1984–2006 she held different position at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and as a diplomat at the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic at the World Trade Organization and World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.
